Rental description
Welcome to Elisabeth and David’s! Their guesthouse is located on a farm specializing in permaculture in Normandy, close to the sea. You’ll feel at ease in this charming old farm, which they renovated with taste and simplicity. The whole estate dates back to the Middle Age and was renovated with eco-friendly materials.
The guesthouse includes 4 bedrooms, one of them large enough to host a family (5 persons) or two couples. You’ll enjoy a fully-equipped kitchen, a living room and a beautiful garden. Lastly, you’ll have the possibility to use bicycles for free: quiet beaches and beautiful surroundings are just a ride away!
Sustainability criteria
Elisabeth and David are committed farmers who will be thrilled to share their know-how in permaculture, an organic farming. Their methods consist of mixed cropping and mixed farming (with their chicken). They are enthusiastic members of an AMAP network (an association that promotes small-scale and sustainable farming), a CPIE network (an environmentalist think tank) and take part in two “Bourse aux graines et plantes locales” (a stock exchange for seeds and local plants, some of them rare).
The buildings were renovated with eco-friendly, local materials, such as rock, clay, wood and linen, but also lime coating. Plants on the farm are watered by collected precipitation, which is also used to power the central heating system. Water on the property is heated by solar power. The building is insulated with hemp and cob.
You’ll be offered regional food, cooked with organic local products from their AMAP.
