Welcome to a little paradise in southwestern France for children and animals – and also adults! Treat your family to a natural holiday full of little fun activities.
Perched atop the pretty Provencal town of Vence, Manfred and Sylvie’s holiday villa is made of two independent living spaces: a small brick house with a lean-to roof and a tiny wooden chalet for children set 10m from the parents’ lodgings. The 34sqm house comprises of a large living room, a dining room, a wood stove and a bedroom, and is surrounded with a lush 2,500sqm of garden. During the day, the bed can be slid under the kitchen podium, leaving space for a large living room. The comfy maisonette has a table for 4 people, a kitchenette, and a bathroom with spa-shower.
As for the kids’ cabin in plain wood, it is equipped with a fixed bed for two children. It is close enough to the main house to prevent them from being afraid, and far enough not to be in each other’s way.
The surrounding environment offered by the organic garden planted with palm-trees and lavender, also including three ponds with fish and water lilies, allows both children and animals to frolic safely. Manfred, an animal lover, currently has 3 dogs, 2 cats and 2 hens that love to be petted and stroked.
Manfred has furthered his ecological approach that he started many years ago by vowing to turn this azure-blue spot into an example of sustainable living on a daily basis: the house is heated with wood waste and its single-slope solar roof helps save on energy and collect water. Waste sorting becomes an habitual gesture, the garden is grown along natural biological lines and, for shopping, a small organic supermarket – where Sylvie works – is in the neighbouring town.
The owners are part of the local organization “Ecology for Vence”, which aims to inform its citizens about environmental preservation and related activities and actively implement initiatives. The owners will be happy to share their ideas during your stay at this holiday haven for family and animals.
