A stone throw away from Colmar in the heart of France’s Ballons des Vosges Nature Park, owners Anne-Rose and Francis offer a warm reception in their small family hotel. It has been made for travelling couples. Each of the 8 rooms was tastefully decorated with traditional charm, and bears the name of a rose growing in the garden. Anne-Rose lovingly tends that garden, which is her great passion. Whatever the season, the property always has a flower or a plant to touch, to smell, and also to eat. Her cuisine finds inspiration from the home-grown vegetables and herbs (and even flowers), and it is to be savoured slowly, as recommended by Slow Food. This hotel is wholly dedicated to your wellness holiday and well-being.
Not only is the hotel certified with France’s regional nature parks, but also by the selective labels “Clef Verte” and “Hôtel au naturel”. Its Slow Food type of cuisine is in keeping with the owners’ approach of environmental protection and effort to maintain the regional biodiversity.
Besides its cuisine based on home-grown produce, and 10 percent organic and regional products, the hotel has committed to sustainability by selective waste sorting, composting vegetable waste from the kitchen and garden, as well as use of energy-saving lightbulbs and water-saving taps. It has been renovated with natural materials – paints, naturally waxed wooden floors, cotton, linen, latex for interior decoration as well as air lime and sand coating for the exterior. Cellulose fibre and cork were chosen for quality insulation and optimized heating. Electricity and hot water are provided by solar panels and solar-powered pumps.
